Adelaide Hills Wildlife Haven, South Australia

The Adelaide Hills Wildlife Haven, established in 1994 on the former Ashcroft family estate near Kersbrook, is a not-for-profit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre serving South Australia's injured and orphaned native fauna. Founded by wildlife biologist Dr. Margaret Ashcroft, the sanctuary combines state-of-the-art veterinary facilities with naturalistic recovery enclosures, treating over eight hundred animals annually whilst delivering community education programmes that have inspired a generation of conservation volunteers, including University of Adelaide zoology student Jerome Smith.

Bixbus Wildlife Sanctuary

The Bixbus Wildlife Sanctuary, established in late 2018 by displaced Tasmanian conservationists Grant and Sarah Ironbach, grew from a collection of chain-link enclosures on the southern edge of a frontier settlement into one of Clivilius's most significant conservation institutions. Housing over 400 species by 2026, the sanctuary serves as the public-facing partner of the Clivilian Ecological Seeding Programme, bridging the deep scientific heritage of the Black Hallows Breeding Facility with Bixbus's millions of residents through exhibition, education, and ecological research.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1981 as a rescue and rehabilitation facility for Tasmania's native wildlife, growing over four decades into one of the island's most respected conservation organisations. Under Grant and Sarah Ironbach's leadership from 2015, the sanctuary expanded its educational programs and breeding initiatives while maintaining its core mission of wildlife rescue. The siblings' sudden departure in July 2018 created an operational crisis that new management eventually resolved, though the sanctuary's character shifted from family operation to professionally administered institution.

Three Pines National Forest, Tasmania

Three Pines National Forest covers 4,800 hectares of mixed eucalyptus and native pine woodland forty kilometres north-west of Hobart, gazetted in 1954 following decades of logging and Dr Harold Penberthy's meticulous botanical advocacy. A generation of southern Tasmanians grew up walking its Ridge Loop and Banksia Loop tracks on school excursions and family weekends — until a Sunday afternoon in March 2016 gave the forest a second, darker reputation that no amount of conservation signage could soften.
