Cash and Consequences
Cody has vanished with Joel's body. The Portal shows nothing. Luke sits in his car, spiralling through the same question on endless repeat until a text from Gladys snaps him back. He makes strange requests—shelving, concrete instructions—then crosses the street to the bank with a green backpack. Inside, he'll withdraw cash, tell lies, and make choices that can't be undone. Some cover-ups require more than bleach and good intentions.
The truck is gone. Cody is gone. Luke checks the Portal—nothing. Just emptiness where answers should be.
Trapped in paranoia, he waits until Gladys texts: final delivery nearly done. Luke's response is oddly specific. Shelving. Concrete. A plan taking shape.
Then he crosses the street, green backpack slung over his shoulder, and walks into the bank. What he does inside—the cash, the lies, the risks—will either buy him time or damn him completely.
Some transactions leave paper trails. Some leave something worse.
